Re-Gifting for Our Family

July 15th was National Give Something Away Day.  We all have things we hang onto just in case we may need it in the future but do we really think we will fit into those pants that we wore 20 years ago.  A few years ago while cleaning out my mother’s apartment, I discovered that she still had clothes that she wore in the 60’s.  It took me a month to clean out her apartment.  As a family we had to go through everything and decide what we wanted to keep. If I had had more time I could have tried to sell some on a vintage web site but working full time and trying to close out her estate put a lot on my plate.  From that point on I decided to clean out my own stuff.  If you look around your house and say to yourself if I die today what is going to happen to all this crap I’ve accumulated and who is going to have to deal with it you will look at your treasures with a fresh eye and start to clean house.  A great show to watch that will start you on this path is the Netflix show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.
